I was a mess, as everyone is when God first gets a hold of them. After a long battle with drugs and alcohol, I finally managed to give them up. I always knew in my heart, if I was going to get married I couldn’t do both.

Born and raised Catholic, I took catechism as a young boy. However, I never really heard or learned about Jesus until I met Elisabeth. That’s when I learned that Jesus Christ died for me, to save my sins. As I began searching, reading, and going to church, I couldn’t bear to live another day without Him. So, when the pastor gave the invitation that morning, I accepted Christ as my personal savior, then a man of 27.

However, the anger within me didn’t leave. At the age of 15, I lost my best friend. My dad died of terminal cancer. With no one to talk to, and no one to care, a wall built up inside of me and I wouldn’t let anyone in—that is, until I met Jesus.

Although the anger and rages continued, Jesus began to show me my weaknesses. I soon learned when I’m weak He’s strong. Little by little, I began to give myself, each and every part, over to God, until, slowly, but surely, the anger and bitterness subsided.

I also had a powerful addiction to cigarettes, but because of our son, Brian and his heart condition, I knew I had to give them up. I tried to quit a few times on my own, but like a dog returning to its vomit, I went right back to them. Finally I decided to pray and ask God to help me. And that’s when the deliverance came! Minute by minute He took the strong cravings away.

And He'll do it for you too. It's been 18 years since I gave up smoking and I couldn't be any happier with the way God has allowed my life to turn out. I'm married to a beautiful woman, have four awesome kids, and I get to share with others the amazing things God's done in my life!
